between Jordan and the Russian Federation

Diplomatic relations between, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and The Russian Federation, were established on August 21st, 1963 based on friendship, cooperation and mutual respect. The Two countries were keen on establishing an exemplary bilateral relation. The Soviet Union, then, placed great importance on its relations with Jordan, due to its significant influence and role in regional and global stability, as well as the its moderate approach to regional and international politics. The Jordanian-Russian intergovernmental committee meets biannually to establish dialogue on the enhancement of cooperation between the two countries in agriculture, transport, energy and tourism. Russia hosted and continues to host an increasing numbers of Jordanian students who receive their education in Russian universities, become qualified professionals and work for the development of their country.

Jordanian-Russian relations will remain solid and strong, as the leaders of the two countries believe in this partnership and its strategic importance as a guarantor for a solid foundation for the stability and security and eventually the development of the Middle East region as a whole.
